Focht and Larry Scholars Announced!

The Montgomery County Community Foundation, working in partnership with the Red Oak Heritage Foundation is pleased to announce that the LaDonna Focht and the Verna “Gwen” Lary scholars have been selected. 

The Focht scholars will receive a scholarship award in the amount of $250 for tuition at a school of the student’s choice.  The Focht scholars are Michael Crouse  from Red Oak High School, Aaron Williams from Villisca High School, and Grant Focht from Stanton High School.

The Lary scholar will receive a scholarship award in the amount of $500 for the school of the student’s choice.  The Lary scholar is Malia Blay a 2006 graduate from Red Oak High School.  Ms. Blay is currently attending the University of Nebraska Omaha; majoring in Elementary Education and expects to graduate in December 2010.

Board members are: Chair, Scott Sunderman of Villisca; Vice Chair, Mark Swanson, Esq. of Red Oak; Secretary/Treasurer, James Braden, CPA of Red Oak; Dennis Bloom, Esq. of Red Oak; Kevin Cabbage of Stanton; Sherry Carrick, CPA of Red Oak; Bob Drogo of Elliott; Jo Josephson of Red Oak; and James Sifford of Red Oak.

Focht Scholarship Application and Fact Sheet
Three college education scholarships are available for tuition at a school of the student's choice. Students from Stanton, Red Oak, and Villisca High Schools must be accepted as a student by the institution of higher education.

Lary Scholarship Application and Fact Sheet
An education scholarship is available for a qualifying college junior or senior who graduated from a Montgomery County School Distric. They must have declared a major in education.  The scholarship is for use at a school of the student's choice.
