Grant Information
The Kossuth County Community Foundation is here to help our community’s charitable projects and programs contribute to the quality of life in our area. One of the ways that is done is through grantmaking. The Kossuth County Community Foundation currently has one grant cycle each year, with completed applications due by February 15th.

The Kossuth County Community Foundation accepts grant applications from charitable projects and programs impacting a wide range of needs in the community. For example:
  • Arts & Culture - Supporting the creative arts- theatre, music, painting, sculpture, dance, strengthening the programs of local museums and libraries.
  • Community Affairs & Development - Including the administration of justice, development of employment and training, encouragement of citizen participation in community affairs, and enhancement of local community resources.
  • Education - Improving the quality of education through support of both public and private institutions of learning.
  • Environmental Education & Protection - Supporting conservation of natural resources, preventing and eliminating pollution, preserving water quality, protecting wildlife, and educating the public about environmental priorities.
  • Health - Helping alleviate human suffering through support of institutions dedicated to healing and wholeness of life through improvement of health care, prevention of substance abuse, research into the cause and prevention of disease.
  • Historic Preservation - Assisting groups engaged in restoring structures and artifacts of historical importance to the area.
  • Human Services - Assisting youth, women, minorities, the elderly, those with disabilities, and families in need.

Most importantly, the guidelines are very simple, and most groups and organizations are eligible. In order to qualify, your project must fit within these parameters:

  • Your organization must be a tax-exempt, non-profit entity classified by the IRS as a 501(c) 3 organization.
  • Other tax-exempt organizations may be eligible to apply for charitable projects that they conduct, but should call our administrative office to discuss the nature of their project prior to applying.
  • Any school or college, church, or non-profit organization that operates under the jurisdiction of a government entity (city, county) within Kossuth County.
  • Funds cannot be provided for: for-profit companies, individuals, or church activities that promote one religion.
  • There are no set criteria that, if met, will guarantee funding.
CONSIDER APPLYING! We look for new ways to have a positive impact on Kossuth County through innovative and high-impact grants.
