About Us
Our mission is to enhance the artistic, cultural, recreational, historical, social, and natural resources for the benefit of all citizens.

The Polk City Community Foundation was formed in 2008 as an affiliate of the Community Foundation of Greater Des Moines. The founding members of the organization had a vision to ensure that Polk City’s charitable programs were supported now- and in the future. We work together with individuals, families, businesses, and organizations to establish endowment funds that will provide grant awards for years to come.

The Polk City Community Foundation is governed by a local board of directors who are active philanthropic individuals with deep roots in the community. Members of our governing board of directors are:

Mary Miller – President
Brad Nobiling – Vice President
Doug McKinstry – Treasurer
Judy Nyberg – Secretary
Tom Cox – Director
Melissa Warner – Director
Michelle Rothfus – Director
Dennis Dietz– Director
Gary Presnall – Director
