Grant Information

The Story County Community Foundation is here to help our community’s charitable projects and programs contribute to the quality of life in our area.  One of the ways that is done is through grantmaking.  The Story County Community Foundation currently has one granting cycle each year- Grant applications for this cycle are due September 30, 2008.

The Story County Community Foundation accepts grant applications from charitable projects and programs impacting a wide range of needs in the community- arts and culture, health, human services, community betterment, historic preservation, etc.

Grant proposals that address one or more of the following Community Betterment long-range objectives are strongly encouraged:

  • Encourage residents of Story County communities to be inclusive, welcoming, and understanding of diverse cultures.
  • Support strong, stable families and provide solid beginnings for children and youth.
  • Promote the effectiveness and long-term viability of arts and cultural organizations and/or provide access to the arts for new and under served audiences.
  • Strengthen the nonprofit sector by supporting nonprofit organizations, promote philanthropy, and encourage civic involvement.
  • Serve as a catalyst in collaborative efforts for the betterment of communities in Story County.
  • Address other community needs in the areas of education, health, mental health, and human services.

The Foundation generally will not consider funding requests for:

  • annual or capital campaigns
  • endowments
  • ongoing annual operating expenses or salaries
  • grants to individuals
  • programs requiring participation in a religious activity
  • projects not serving residents of Greater Story County
  • festivals and events
  • signage
  • budget deficit

Organizations interested in applying for grants from the Story County Community Foundation are invited to download the grant application and guidelines


Grant Recipients of the CF of Greater Story County
Final Report Form for Story County Community Foundation Grants

Organizations who receive grant awards from the Story County Community Foundation are required to complete the project within one calendar year and submit a final report detailing the expenditure of the grant.  An organization may not apply for another SCCF grant until all reports are completed.
