About Us

The mission of the Dallas County Foundation is to foster private giving, strengthen service providers and improve the conditions of the communities and rural areas of Greater Dallas County. We strive to improve the quality of life through support of activities for the citizens of Dallas county in the following areas: arts and culture, youth development, education, health and human services, recreation, environment and community betterment. We will promote endowment building, community building, organizational collaboration, and public leadership.

The Dallas County Foundation was formed in 2005 as an affiliate of the Greater Des Moines Community Foundation.  The founding members of the organization had a vision to ensure that our communities’ charitable programs were supported now- and in the future.  We work together with many individuals, families, business, and organizations to establish endowment funds that will provide grant awards for years to come.

The Dallas County Foundation is governed by a local board of directors who are active in our local communities.  Members of our board of directors are: Viivi Shirley, Perry, Bob Sturgeon, Granger, Steven Brody, Clive, Gary Sinclair, Dallas Center, Dean Boettcher, Adel, Connie Meinecke, Perry, Chuck Fagen, Dallas Center, Marty Glanz, De Soto, Scott Cirksena, Clive, Clark Wicks, Perry.
