The Hardin County Community Endowment Foundation (HCCEF) is here to help our community’s charitable projects and programs contribute to the quality of life in our area. One of the ways that is done is through grantmaking.
Since our beginning, the HCCEF has invested almost $106,000.00 into our county - which has helped leverage more than $454,000.00 for a variety of projects which are enhancing our county and community.
The Hardin County Community Endowment Foundation currently has one granting cycle each year- APPLICATION DEADLINE is February 1, 2008.
The Hardin County Community Endowment Foundation accepts grant applications from charitable projects and programs impacting a wide range of needs in the community- arts & culture, health & human services, community betterment, recreation & environment, education, and youth development.
The Foundation funds projects that address significant community issues; present innovative, creative, and practical proposals which build on community strengths; develop the leadership potential of the community; involve local people in the planning and implementation of the program; provide a plan for sustainability beyond the fund period; and promote capital projects that impact a significant number of country residents.
- Application deadline- February 1, 2008
- The maximum grant is $5,000, not to exceed 50% of total project cost.
- Grant requests may be wholly or partially funded.
- Projects funded should not duplicate initiatives already undertaken by other non-profit organization.
- The foundation does not give multi grants to the same organization or give grants to organizations with open grants not completed.
- The foundation does not fund ongoing project support and current operating expenses; annual and capital campaigns; budget deficits; reduction of debt; completed projects; endowments; individuals; recurring funds; religious purposes (this does not exclude grants to religious organizations for non-religious purposes).
Organizations interested in applying for grants from the Hardin County Community Endowment Foundation may obtain a hard copy of the grant at all Hardin County City Halls, by contacting the Hardin County Extension Service at 641-648-4850 or by downloading the grant guidelines and application.

Fifteen (15) copies of the completed grant application must either be delivered to the Hardin County Auditor’s Office at the courthouse in Eldora or the Hardin County Extension Office in Iowa Falls by 4 p.m. on Friday, February 1, or mailed to the Hardin County Community Endowment Foundation, Box 2, Eldora, IA 50627.
Organizations that receive grant awards from the Hardin County Community Endowment Foundation are required to complete the project within 9 months of receiving the grant money, unless an extension is allowed.
