The Hancock County Foundation is here to help our community’s charitable projects and programs contribute to the quality of life in our area. One of the ways that is done is through grant making. The Hancock County Foundation currently has 1-2 cycle/s each year.
The Hancock County Foundation accepts grant applications from charitable projects and programs impacting a wide range of needs in the community- arts and culture, health, human services, community betterment, historic preservation, etc.
The Hancock County Foundation seeks projects which address significant community issues; present innovative, creative and practical proposals which build on community strengths; develop the leadership potential of the county or community; involve the people served in the planning and implementing of the program, provide a plan for sustainability beyond the funding period; and capital projects that impact a significant number of county residents. Examples of projects the Foundation does not fund are: ongoing project support and operating support; annual and capital campaigns; equipment unless it is essential for the program; budget deficits, endowments, individuals, recurring funds, religious purposes unless the request is for a non-religious purpose.
Organizations interested in applying for grants from the Hancock County Foundation are invited to download the following information: Fall 2006 Grant Cycle application and guidelines as listed below.
Organizations that receive grant awards from the Hancock County Foundationare required to do the following:
1. complete the project within 12 months
2. provide receipted proof of purchases including photos
3. provide timely progress reports of the project status quarterly
4. submit a final report.
Recipients are also required to give the Hancock County Foundation credit in all media releases. Please review the attachment to the grant application form as offered below.
