About Us

Mission: The mission of the O’Brien County Community Foundation is to enhance the quality of life in O’Brien County communities by encouraging permanent charitable giving to meet the needs of present and future generations.

The O’Brien County Community Foundation was formed in 2005 as an affiliate of the Siouxland Community Foundation. The founding members of the organization had a vision to ensure that the charitable programs in our county were supported now- and in the future. We work together with many individuals, families, business, and organizations to establish endowment funds that will provide grant awards for years to come.

The O’Brien County Community Foundation is governed by a local advisory board who are active in our county. Members of our advisory board are:

Ann Carpenter (County-at-Large), Chair
James Johnson (Sutherland, IA), Vice-Chair
Allene Baichtal (Sanborn, IA), Secretary
Martin Weber (Paullina, IA), Treasurer
Connie Ebel (Primghar, IA)

Tom Farnsworth (Archer, IA)
Mark Gaul (Sheldon, IA)
Steve Leng (Hartley, IA)
David Schmidt (Calumet, IA)
